At the advocate gathering in our area last weekend, I was asked to do a presentation about making the ministry of Compassion a family endeavor. It was such a joy to have my family there with me, and my husband even shared his perspective.
Kevin has always been supportive of my desire to sponsor kids and advocate on behalf of Compassion, but a couple years ago he had a major paradigm shift.
After going on several short-term medical mission trips, and after reading When Helping Hurts, he realized that sponsorship through Compassion provides a much more holistic and sustainable answer to poverty.
