Gifts of Compassion ~ Christmas Catalog

It's here....for the second year, Compassion has put together a wonderful catalog called Gifts of Compassion.

There is something in here for everyone on your list, and in every price range.

Do you have school aged children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews? How about making a donation towards school supplies for another child in their name?

Is there a sports lover in your family? You can purchase a soccer ball or volley ball in their name.

A budding young artist? I'm thinking of my own daughter here. She loves to draw and supporting another young artist might be a fun way to encourage her.

There are vaccinations and dental care for those docs in your family.

And if there are any expecting mothers or new babies, how about donating toward newborn survival?

Like I said, there is something for everyone. To see the entire catalog online, go HERE. While you are there, you can watch a video about how it works and even order a catalog (or many catalogs) to hand out to friends.

Make the most of your money this year. Give gifts that are truly needed. Your mom doesn't need another sweater, but buying a chicken can provide a source of income for a family, manure for their vegetable garden and a steady supply of eggs.

Since Christmas is Jesus' birthday, let's focus on Him and give Him our gifts. How? Let's be obedient to Him. In Scripture He repeatedly asks us to care for the poor. In Matthew he goes so far as to say, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40)

Now go shopping! I'd love to hear what your plans are for incorporating this opportunity into your Christmas celebration this year.
