Ohhhh, the book is on my amazon wish list! :) I would visit Brenda in Kenya! We've sponsored her since she was 7 and she's 15 now!

I have been wanting to read this!! Right now I would probably pick Honduras. My little girl Anahi is there, and she is on my mind very frequently. I am pretty sure if I visited, her family would try to keep me. Her mom writes her letters and they are so full of love. I wish I could go see her right now!
Thanks for your support Jill, and I hope you enjoyed the book. I have no need to win a free copy, but for the record I am hoping to go to Brazil again and celebrate another birthday there :) David.

I really enjoyed all your stories of your travels. Like you, we've also had awkward meetings with a couple of our kids. My husband first experienced this when he met our girl in Nicaragua three years ago. She was very shy and it was very awkward. But I just went to meet her in January and it was better. She was still shy, but I could tell she was happy I came. And last year when we met our Orm in Thailand it was also very awkward. She traveled to us with a Compassion staff worker - her mom couldn't come. So I think that played into it, as well as the cultural norms of children not being allowed to speak to adults. I also loved hearing about how you share your music with the kids when you travel. I took my violin to Nicaragua last month and had so much fun playing for the kids at the project...it's special to share yourself in that way.

I'm curious...do you sponsor any children now that you are back from the Philippines and your volunteer work?

Yes, my Compassion family is up to six already, five of whom I sponsored previously and have reconnected with, which is exciting. I am only teaching part-time at he moment but as God provides I plan to expand again (and continue writing and visiting the developing world).
Would love to read your book. If money were no object I would visit my girl in Sri Lanka. I would also love to visit my girl in Honduras when it is time for her quinceanera so I could celebrate with her.
We've done a sponsor tour to Peru and an individual trip to the Philippines so we definitely love visiting our kids. I really want to get to India next to visit our two there, but Africa is high up there too (since we have kids in Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda).
Would love to read this book! I want so badly to go to India, to visit my sweet Srijana there. I've been her sponsor for the past 4 years and have so enjoyed her amazing letters!

I guess if I had to choose today, I would head to Indonesia - I have 2 boys, Rafli and Hesly, who are still in the program, and a girl, Mega, who just graduated in October. It's the only country where I have more than one, so it would make financial sense. :)

Would love to read the book... I've been feeling the need for some inspiration lately.
I would go to Tanzania, Bolivia or El Salvador, well and India. We sponsor girls in each of these countries. BUT my 15 year old and I are planning a trip to Uganda this summer, to meet her Ugandan sister. My daughter was a correspondent sponsor of Charity's until her financial sponsor ended the sponsorship. My daughter didn't want to loose the friendship that was building, so she took on the commitment by faith.
I would love to visit Brazil, as my sponsored girl wrote me a very sweet letter asking me to visit. Hopefully one day I will be able to see her in person!
