What to Write ~ Back to School

Happy Second Third Friday! (I'm a whole week late on this one!) If you haven't done so already this month, it's letter writing time.

Because we are recently back to school in my house, as are most kids around our country, I thought I'd write letters with a back to school theme this time. Back to school also happens to be one of the themes for the Second Friday Letter Writing Pinterest Board.

Dear.....

Hello! How are you? We are well. This is a busy time of year for us. Our summer break is over and the girls are headed back to school. They are both very excited as they have been promoted to the next grade and are eager to learn new things this year. Sydney will be in grade 3 and Kayleigh will be in grade 2. We always take a picture of the girls on the first day of school. My mom did this for me when I was younger, too.

In our country, we can choose to keep our kids at home and have them do school at home. This is what our family has chosen to do. This means that I am both their mom and their school teacher. We do math, reading, writing, history, spelling, and science just like they do at school. We just do it at home.

Our typical school day looks something like this.... the girls get dressed and ready for school, eat breakfast, brush their teeth and then begin their studies. We always start with Bible and prayer. Then we do violin practice, math, writing, reading, spelling, history, science and geography. We don't do every subject every day. Usually we are finished with our school work by lunch and have the afternoons to rest, play or do other activities. We do school everyday, Monday through Friday.
