I've come across some great reads this week and wanted to pass them along to you in case you haven't seen them and have some time this weekend.
First of all, Michelle at Blogging from the Boonies, wrote a very creative post called What We Really Need for Christmas...brilliantly beautiful!
One of my favorite simple living bloggers, Joshua Becker at Becoming Minimalist, wrote Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing. It's a great read about keeping Christmas simple and focused on what is important to you.
The Simple Living Media Network of blogs (Simple Mom, Simple Homeschool, Simple Design, Simple Kids, Simple Bites and Simple Homemade) is funding a CSP in Ethiopia! Tsh, founder of this network of blogs, is also a Compassion blogger. I am so excited to see her harnessing the power of her readers to fund an entire CSP. All the blogs are featuring posts about how this will work. It is actually set up through Pure Charity and when you shop on line at places like Target and HomeDepot, you will get a donation kick-back that will help fund this. Of course, you can also donate directly! Tsh explains it all really well HERE and HERE.
And now let's celebrate this season of giving....
First up is this must-read book by Wess Stafford.
If you have not read this, you must.
Really...it's that good!
I also have a copy of his second book, Just a Minute - another fabulous book!
Sheba's Song by J. A. Harbison is a great inspiration for those who need a little encouragement when it comes to letter writing. Although fictional, it tells the story of Sheba (an Indian girl) and her sponsor through the letters they exchange. My own letter writing style changed after I read this book.
Finally, I have this long-sleeved shirt. This shirt has been worn, but is still in good condition. The size is a men's small and the color is olive green.
