Letter Writing Time and a Correspondence Kit Giveaway

A couple weeks ago one of my violin students mentioned making snowflakes out of coffee filters. It sounded like such a great idea and I picked some up the next time I was at the store. I also found some really cute snowflake paper at Michael's. I also found cool, scratch-off snowflakes at Oriental Trading a couple weeks ago.

Although I don't live in a snowy area, I decided I would write a snow-themed letter. We do occasionally drive to the snow to hike, but I didn't include any photos in this letter.

So I had all the stuff, just not the time to crank out 18 letters. I was pleasantly suprised to open my Google reader one day and see Yvonne over at Our Little Corner of the World had the same idea (she even had the same paper)!

Yvonne has a step by step photo tutorial on how to make these....be sure to read her post.

Thanks Jill for sharing a link to my blog! I love the blue snowflakes you found and your coffee filter snowflakes look wonderful!
I would like to win!
I would love to win a correspondence kit! I'm always looking for new and exciting things to send to my kiddos.

I just sent my children Valentine's Day letters a week ago and next week I'm going to send them snow related letters.

I posted a blog entry about your giveaway here: http://letterstoabu.blogspot.com/

I have three Compassion kids that I correspond with. They are Meena from India. She's 16. I have Eric from Uganda. He's also 16. And I have Kalpesh. He's 9 and from India. I also sponsor two World Vision children. Abu-Bakarr is 9 from Sierra Leone and Xhuliano is 11 and from Albania. I love them all dearly. I couldn't leave out my WV kiddos.
I would love to win a kit! Love the snowflake idea and the paper is so pretty! I know I saw a printable snowman that u can cut out and build.. I think it was on familyfun.com...maybe called 'buildableu snowman'... I love all the free things on that site.. if I knew how to link websites via my phone I would put it here!
I noticed I spelled buildable wrong, so I went and looked for the snowman on the family fun website...it is called 'build your own snowman printable'. There is a scene, some clothes, and facial expressions.
