On their website, Compassion has compiled a list of 52 specific ways to pray for your sponsored child. Each Sunday I will feature one of these. For the complete list, please go HERE.
Week 15 Honesty: Pray that God will instill honesty in _________'s heart to refrain from any false dealings at any time, in any situation. Pray that this child will resist temptation to lie or steal regardless of the circumstances, and be above the reproach of dishonesty.
“Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator." ~ Colossians 3:9-10
We have no idea what pressures these children may be faced with, and the temptation of dishonesty could be very present in their lives. I love the "regardless of circumstances" part of this prayer. Let's cover our sponsored children with this prayer and pray that they are able to resist the temptation of dishonesty.
