If we are guilty about worry about what we will eat, drink or wear, how much more so are those living in poverty? As we pray for our sponsored children this week, let us pray that those of us living in a land of abundant blessing will be grateful for all we have and not take anything for granted.
WEEK 8:Food & Clothing: Pray that _____will not be concerned or worried about daily necessities, but will trust God for everything that is needed for a healthy life. Pray that the child and the family will understand the need for a well-balanced diet and gain knowledge of good nutrition and hygiene."So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them." ~Matthew 6:31-32
Let us understand that the opposite of poverty is not wealth, but that the opposite of poverty is enough.
Coincidentally, this prayer is very applicable for me as well (today I started a new and very strict diet due to my health issues.) I will be praying this prayer and this verse over my children and myself this week :)
