Prayer Week 1

On their website, Compassion has compiled a list of 52 specific ways to pray for your sponsored child. Each Sunday I will feature one of these. For the complete list, please go HERE.

WEEK 1:

Salvation: Pray that ________ will hear the gospel, understand it and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation." - 2 Corinthians 5:17,21

We all know we should pray for our Compassion kids, but sometimes we aren't exactly sure what to pray for. These weekly prayers will help your family pray very specifically for your sponsored child. This is also a great guide as we pray for our own children. My children love to hear me pray for them by name. As we pray for our Compassion children, let's also pray for the salvation of our own children. To make this truly a family affair, let's not forget to pray for the salvation of our sponsored child's family.

Take a moment this week to write to your sponsored child and let them know how you are praying for them. Write this prayer out, with their name inserted, and let them know you care about their salvation.
