What can you do to visually bring a global awareness into your home?
Over the years, we have had several world maps hanging in our home and this is our latest. It's very large and is the focal point in our family room. The map has been a wonderful resource for identifying and locating countries where our sponsored children live. It has also served as a great conversation starter with friends who visit.
On a smaller scale, you can have a globe. Not only is a globe another great learning tool, it's a fun, hands-on resource your kids will enjoy spinning.
I LOVE the new blog. I'm super excited to read it and be motivated to help cast a vision for mission in our home. We were just at IKEA Saturday and saw this map...I need to get creative. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe like to bring in artefacts from places around the world where we or family members have visited. This includes photos, postcards, fabric (tea towels, sanrongs, table cloths), musical instruments, flags. These are constant reminders that the world is bigger than the four walls we live in.
