Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Wow...another year has come and gone. I love all the reflection that takes place at the end of one year and the beginning of the next. I love setting new goals and laying out new plans for the  next year.

Our year has already gotten off to a great start as our Joseph in Tanzania has a birthday on January 1st! And this morning when I logged into my Compassion account, I noticed four new faces of children I get to correspond with. And in just three weeks, I'll be on my way to Nicaragua where I will get to meet two of my Compassion children and two of my mom's Compassion children!

2015 is off to a great start!

Do you have goals for yourself when it comes to Compassion? I have a few...
  • write letters monthly
  • send birthday gifts - $, cards and folders
  • host Compassion Sunday at my church
  • faithfully advocate on behalf of children waiting for sponsors
  • encourage other sponsors by blogging here
  • continue "what to write" series
  • continue and finish "ABCs of Compassion" series
  • continue "Compassion JOY Dare"

I'd love to know what you'd like to see here from Compassion Family this year. What are your favorite types of posts? What do you want more/less of?

I'd love to hear from you...

I love coming here. Your ideas are great. I love the JOY Dare but only did it once or twice. I didn't do as much this past year as I wanted with Compassion.... hope to this year.... thanks for always keeping up and helping others. So excited for your trip!!!
Praying.

I started off the new year with a birthday, also. Jose Alexander from Honduras turned 14 today! I only sponsored him last week, so there was no way possible for my card and gift to reach him by his birthday. I sent it anyway and told him to celebrate twice! As for my favorite type of posts, I like to read stories and articles by other sponsors who have visited their children or Compassion projects. I especially love it if there are pictures to complement the article. I also like to hear from or about formerly sponsored children, and what they are doing now and how the program has helped them.
Wow!! Your trip is coming up soon!! That's so exciting. I have similar goals! I'd love to host Compassion Sunday, we want to continue with a few lettet writing parties, I'd like to complete the Steps program with Juanito, advocate for kids, keep up on blogging and most of all, write to my kids and pray for them. I also will have the opportunity to translate advocate interview for Spanish speaking interviewees! I'm excited and nervous about that!
I'm so jealous! Trips to the Philippines are so expensive, but we have a 5-year plan to go when Barbie graduates. Otherwise, even if we went to our 5 other countries, we have no one to pay for a very expensive plane ticket from America to England to come watch our kids while we go.
Love your goals!! I need to sit down and write down a few Compassion goals for the year, but there is so much going on right now!! I am looking forward to reading about your upcoming trip with your mom :)
