Have you written yet this month? If not, we are about two months away from Valentine's Day, so writing about it and love would be a great topic.
Here are some things to consider:
- What is Valentine's day and how do you celebrate?
- Do you have childhood memories of Valentine's day?
- What does love mean to you?
- Who are some people in your lives that you love?
- What does the Bible say about love?
- What are some favorite Bible verses about love?
Love is such an easy topic, and it's one of those topics that never gets old. Especially the message of God's love for us!
Here's what I wrote this month...
Greetings to you in the name of Jesus! How are you and
your family doing? We are doing well here in Oregon. Our days are getting
colder and shorter, which is typical of winter.
Usually we have a lot of rain this time of year, but it’s been pretty dry
here lately and that’s been nice.
We are getting ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day
here….a day in which we celebrate LOVE and tell
those who are close to us – our
family and friends – how much we love them.
I want to tell you, too, how much we love you. We are so thankful that you are part of our lives and
we can pray for you and encourage you through letters.
And
God
loves you. My prayer for you comes
from Ephesians 3:18…
May you have the power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ….
Think about it for a minute. John 3:16 says…
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God loves you. God loves me. God loves each and every one of us. Do you know the
best way that we can love God back? The way we can show God how much we love
Him is to obey His commands. The Bible is full of commands that God has laid
out for us – telling us how we should live. He tells us this because He loves
us and wants the best for us. We can love Him back by doing what He says – by
being obedient – and by giving thanks to Him each and every day.
God loves you. Rest in that knowledge today. When you are feeling sad, know that God loves you. When you are happy, give
thanks to God for loving you. When you are alone, remind yourself that God loves you.
We made origami heart bookmarks and included heart stickers with each letter. Here's how we made them...
use square piece of paper
if printed on one side, put printed side down
fold paper in half
unfold and then fold top corners to middle crease
flip paper over so printed side is up
now fold sides into middle crease
fold top half down
trim corners and middle to shape it like a heart
It's super easy, especially after you make 2 or 3.
